Belgian robotics software company ZYGO and German robotics hardware specialist inMotion Robotic are launching Protector, their first joint product designed to revolutionise autonomous security operations. The quadruped robot model will be showcased at Hannover Messe 2026, where both companies will demonstrate its capabilities and discuss future collaborations with interested parties.

ZYGO and inMotion Robotic have combined their expertise to develop Protector, a Physical AI Agent tailored for security services. Protector leverages ZYGO’s advanced software platform, ZYGOS, to transform inMotion Robotic’s hardware into an autonomous agent capable of patrolling, monitoring, and responding to security threats in real time.

“This partnership marks a significant milestone in our mission to create hybrid teams. Together, we’re addressing critical labour shortages and reducing risks in high-stakes environments. Protector is the first of many innovations we’ll bring to market.” Erik van Winkel, co-founder of ZYGO.

Protector is designed to operate in complex, unstructured environments, such as industrial sites and critical infrastructure. Its AI-driven reasoning enables it to perceive its surroundings with advanced sensors, reason about situations, make autonomous decisions, and act instantly, even in offline or low-connectivity scenarios.

Unlike traditional rule-based systems, Protector adapts dynamically. The Physical AI Agent recognises anomalies and investigates autonomously before escalating to a human worker. This approach significantly recudes false alarms and the burden on human security agents.” Arne Depuydt, co-founder of ZYGO.

The ZYGOS platform provides the “robot brain,” enabling edge reasoning and autonomous task execution, while inMotion Robotic contributes state-of-the-art hardware optimized for durability and performance. This collaboration underscores both companies’ commitment to scalable solutions that reduce operational costs and improve safety.

“ZYGO's vision for hybrid human-robot teams perfectly aligns with what we've built: a robot that doesn't replace people, but makes them more effective and keeps them safe. This collaboration brings together the best of operational deployment expertise and cutting-edge robotics to answer one of the security industry's most pressing challenges. For inMotion, Protector is not just a product but the blueprint for how autonomous systems and human operators will work side by side. We're proud to build this future together with ZYGO." — Kai Leuze, CEO, inMotion Robotic GmbH.

At Hannover Messe (20 –24 April 2026), ZYGO and inMotion Robotic will jointly present Protector, offering live demonstrations and insights into its technical capabilities. Attendees will also learn about possibilities for expanding the platform to new verticals, including logistics and infrastructure inspection.
